BEFORE COMMENCING ANY WORK ON THE SPRAYER, ALWAYS
OPERATE THE TRIGGER VALVE TO ENSURE THERE IS NO RETAINED
PRESSURE IN THE SYSTEM WHICH COULD CAUSE YOU TO BE SPLASHED
WITH CHEMICAL.
It is recommended to occasionally lubricate the plastic
piston guide bush Pt No. 511950 in the top of the container
and the piston ‘O’ ring Pt No. 606740 with
petroleum jelly. To remove the pump for this purpose,
unscrew the plastic wing nut, Pt No. 511930 which secures
the hose Pt No. 513590 and the pump retaining plate Pt
No. 511920. This operation is made easier by turning the
trigger and lance at the same time. The metal pump operating
yoke can then be lifted off the top of the piston and
the pump can be withdrawn. When the piston ring has been
lubricated, the parts should be replaced in the reverse
order.
If the trigger valve Pt No. 726004 becomes stiff to operate,
the action will be improved by lubricating the valve spindle
Pt No. 607472. This can be removed from the trigger valve
body, after first unscrewing the cap Pt No. 536900.
CLEANING THE TRIGGER VALVE FILTER
There is a filter, Pt No. 613320 in the handle of the
trigger valve to prevent nozzle blockages. Symptoms indicating
that the filter is itself blocked are when a poor, weak,
spray pattern occurs whilst the tank has liquid, the pump
appears to be creating pressure and the nozzle is clear.
The filter can be removed for cleaning by unscrewing the
hose connection fitting, Pt No. 538600.
